Vestron Video was one of the first labels to appear on LV without a major movie studio or player manufacturer behind
it. Vestron appears on disc in 1982. Vestron launches on LaserVision with such delights as Pia Zadora in Butterfly,
Tony Curtis in Sex on the Run and Marilyn Chambers in the R-rated Angel of H.E.A.T. Out of nearly a
dozen initial titles, half some sexual theme to them. Reminds one of what was important and helped make home video establish
itself back in the early 1980s. Vestron Video included sublabels Wonderlust and Wizard. Of the launch group, Wonderlust
titles included: The Happy Hooker and the mentioned Sex on the Run. The major titles for Veston's start were Fort
Apache, The Bronx starring Paul Newman and the all-star Cannonball Run, both 20th Century-Fox releases
theatrically. Vestron is started as a division of HBO to distribute to video Time-Life holdings and HBO product.
Fort Apache, The Bronx was a Time-Life production with Fox. Hocus Pocus, It's Magic
and Here It Is, Burlesque were HBO specials that made it to video via Vestron.
