The film was rolling up to the number one all-time box office position, as MCA VideoDisc put out the announcement that "E.T."
was destined for LD. This proposed offering of the film did not occur until years later, when "E.T." arrives in a letterbox
MCA Home Video release. The rest of the announced Coming Attractions did make it to LD in a fairly timely manner. As in
MCA's Spring 1982, OPA (Optical Programming Associates) releases are included.
